The American Dream may be reaching new heights, and it’s not in a good way. The typical first-time homebuyer is now 40 years old, which is an all-time high, according to the National Association of REALTORS®. But some members of Generation Z are entering the housing market much earlier than millennials did. Born in or after 1997, Gen Z buyers are showing up as homeowners in their 20s by often saving early, accepting starter properties that need work and relying on family support when it’s available.
